This high-fidelity 3D-printed replica reproduces the upper portion of a colossal limestone statue of a bearded man, identified as a worshipper or priest. The original, dated 450–425 BC and excavated at the Sanctuary of Apollo at Idalion in Cyprus, depicts a standing figure in frontal pose wearing a pleated tunic (chiton) and a cloak (himation) with a characteristic zig-zag border fold. The preserved fragment measures 1.04 m in height; the complete original statue stood at least 2 m tall.
The replica is available in the following materials:
– White nylon: Polished for a smoother surface finish. This is the most economical option.
– Black nylon: Post-printing treatment increases resistance to external conditions, scratching and rubbing. Colour remains stable and consistent across production batches. The surface presents a uniform, high-quality finish.
– Bronze, gold-plated brass, white rhodium-plated brass: Produced by metal casting. A wax master model is 3D-printed, invested in plaster, and replaced with liquid metal. This process yields metal parts with an elegant appearance.
Objects exceeding the maximum size permitted by the production process for a given material are supplied at a reduced scale relative to the original. In certain cases hollowing is applied to lower material cost.
