This 3D-printed replica is based on a Tanagra-type terracotta statuette from ancient Callatis, dated to the Hellenistic period, broadly in the 4th–3rd centuries BCE. The original presents a standing female figure wrapped in abundant drapery, with a small dove perched on her right shoulder. Though modest in scale, it has a strong sense of balance, restraint, and refinement. This reproduction preserves the essential character of the ancient object and translates it into a contemporary collectible and study piece.
The original statuette belongs to the long tradition of mold-made terracotta figures that circulated widely across the Greek world. Its discovery at Callatis, on the western Black Sea coast, connects it not only to the broader Hellenistic world but also to the local artistic life of an important Greek colony. In this replica, the figure’s drapery, composed posture, and distinctive avian attribute remain central. Together they create an image of cultivated femininity shaped by ideals of grace, elegance, and controlled expression.
Available materials:
- White Nylon
A polished material with a smoother surface to the touch. This is the most economical option and presents the form in a clean and understated way. - Black Nylon
Finished through a post-printing treatment process before the application of the Color Touch finish. This gives the object a uniform and consistent color, improved resistance to scratching and rubbing, and a durable surface suitable for external conditions. - Bronze
Produced through a metal casting process based on a highly accurate 3D-printed master model. This gives the replica an elegant appearance and a more substantial visual character. - Gold Plated Brass
Created through the same casting process, using a 3D-printed wax master and plaster mold. The result is a refined metal version with a more formal and elevated finish. - White Rhodium Plated Brass
Also produced through metal casting from a precise 3D-printed master model. This version offers a bright and elegant metallic finish with a distinctly polished appearance.
As a reproduction, the object is suitable both as a decorative piece and as a sculptural reference. The folds of the garment, the calm stance, and the dove remain the defining elements of the design, while the available materials allow the replica to take on different visual and tactile qualities.
Please note that objects too large for the production process in a given material are produced at a reduced scale compared to the original. In some cases, hollowing has also been added in order to reduce the final price.
