Olmec Anthropomorphic Figurine – 3D-Printed Replica
This replica reproduces a seated Olmec anthropomorphic figurine from the Formative period. The figure is shown nude, with knees bent outward and hands placed beneath the thighs. Incised hair is tied in a knot on the upper left side of the head. The face has open eyes, a prominent nose, and an open mouth revealing the teeth. A circular outline marks the navel. The original ceramic object belongs to the early Mesoamerican tradition of the Gulf Coast and is held in the collection of the Fundación La Ruta Maya in Guatemala.
The replica is available in the following materials:
White nylon
Polishing is a process which makes the objects smoother to touch and is the cheapest option.
Black nylon
Thanks to the post-printing treatment procedure we follow before applying the Color Touch finish on your 3D parts, they get resistant enough to be exposed to external conditions, they resist scratching and rubbing. Moreover, you get a very stable and consistent color between different production batches, which is great if you need to produce an important amount of identical parts. The surface shows a uniform color, with a very good quality.
Bronze, gold-plated brass, and white rhodium-plated brass
The master model typically built in wax thanks to 3D printing is the perfect replica of the finished product. Once the master model is created, a mould made in plaster is poured over it. Once the plaster mold is ready, liquid metal is injected into the mold to replace wax which is drained away through a treelike structure to create the object. Using Metal Casting allows creating metal parts with an elegant look.
Dimensions
Nylon versions: 7.8 × 12 cm (3.1 × 4.7 in)
Metal versions: 2.9 × 4.5 cm (1.1 × 1.8 in)
Objects that are too large for the production process in the different materials are produced in a smaller scale than the originals. In some cases hollowing is added to reduce the price.
