This finely crafted 3D-printed reproduction faithfully captures the portrait sculpture of Phagmo Drupa Dorje Gyalpo (1110–1170), a foundational master of the Phagdru Kagyu lineage in Tibetan Buddhism. Created in Central Tibet during the 13th century, the original gilt-bronze figure—measuring approximately 13.5 × 12 × 8.5 cm with a separately cast base of 8 × 19 × 14 cm—depicts the lama in a meditative Buddha posture, seated on a lotus-supported lion throne. The composition conveys serene authority, reinforced by traditional mudras of meditation and generosity, and reflects the Kagyu tradition’s recognition of realized teachers as living Buddhas.
This reproduction preserves the essential iconography, proportions, and dignified presence of the original, including the elaborate base ornamented with lions, deities, and jewel motifs inspired by stupa architecture. Available in a range of materials, each offering distinct aesthetic and tactile qualities:
- White nylon — Polished finish for a smooth, refined surface; the most economical option.
- Black nylon — Color Touch post-processing yields high scratch and rub resistance, uniform and consistent coloration across production batches, and excellent surface quality for stable, repeatable results.
- Bronze, gold plated brass, white rhodium plated brass — Produced via lost-wax metal casting: a 3D-printed wax master model is encased in plaster mold, then replaced by molten metal to achieve precise detail and an elegant metallic finish.
Objects exceeding production size limits are reproduced at a reduced scale compared to the original and may incorporate hollowing to optimize material use and reduce cost.
