This 3D-printed replica reproduces a fragmentary marble statuette of Aphrodite, known to the Romans as Venus, in a semi-nude form derived from a long-standing classical image tradition. Though the original survives only in part, the preserved lower half retains the defining qualities of the goddess’s iconography: balanced stance, controlled sensuality, and deeply cut drapery gathered across the hips and legs. The result is an object of clear sculptural character, shaped by ancient religious imagery and preserved here as a precise modern reproduction.
The original statuette is understood as a Roman Imperial work, probably dating to the 2nd–3rd century CE, while following an older Greek Aphrodite type that remained influential throughout the ancient Mediterranean. Its inscribed base indicates that the sculpture was likely a dedicatory image rather than a purely decorative object, adding an important historical and religious dimension to the piece. This replica preserves that archaeological and visual significance in a format suitable for display, study, or collecting.
Available materials:
- White Nylon – A polished nylon option with a smoother surface to the touch. This is the most economical material choice.
- Black Nylon – Finished with Color Touch after post-print treatment, giving the object a uniform black surface with good durability, resistance to scratching and rubbing, and stable consistency across production batches.
- Bronze – Produced through metal casting from a 3D-printed master model. This process creates a refined metal object with an elegant and substantial appearance.
- Gold Plated Brass – Cast from a precisely made master model and finished in gold plated brass for a more elevated decorative character.
- White Rhodium Plated Brass – Manufactured through the same casting process and finished with a bright white rhodium plated surface, giving the object a cooler and more polished metal appearance.
Objects that are too large for the production process in a given material may be produced at a reduced scale in relation to the original.
