A 3D-printed replica of the colossal marble female head from the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus. The original was carved around 350 BC and excavated in 1857 by Sir Charles Thomas Newton at Bodrum, Turkey. The head turns slightly to the left. A triple row of formal spiral curls frames the forehead; the remaining hair is covered by a close-fitting sakkos. The type is associated with female members of the Hecatomnid dynasty.
The replica is produced from a 3D model of the sculpture. Two nylon finishes are available.
White nylon Polished white nylon. Polishing produces a smoother surface and is the most economical option.
Black nylon Black nylon with Color Touch finish. Post-printing treatment increases resistance to outdoor exposure, scratching and rubbing. Colour is stable and consistent between production batches. The surface is uniform.
Objects that exceed the production limits of the selected material are supplied at a reduced scale relative to the original. Hollowing is applied in some cases in order to reduce cost.
