Offering Table of Defdji – 3D-Printed Replica
This replica represents the Offering Table of Defdji, an ancient Egyptian ritual object dating to the Sixth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom (c. 2305–2118 BCE). Made originally from alabaster, the table was designed for funerary offerings and features inscriptions naming offerings and shallow cavities associated with sacred oils. The original is preserved at the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden, the Netherlands.
The replica is available in white nylon, black nylon, bronze, gold-plated brass and white rhodium-plated brass. Nylon versions are polished to provide a smoother surface, while the black nylon finish offers a uniform, consistent colour and resistance to scratching and rubbing. Metal versions are produced using a casting process, resulting in a solid metal finish with an elegant appearance.
Replica Measurements:
- White and black nylon: 11 × 11 cm (4.3 × 4.3 in)
- Bronze, gold-plated brass and white rhodium-plated brass: 3.5 × 3.5 cm (1.4 × 1.4 in)
Objects that exceed the production limits of a particular material are reproduced at a reduced scale compared with the original. Hollowing may also be applied where appropriate to reduce production costs.
