Omphalos of Delphi (c. 300 BCE–300 CE)
This marble omphalos from Delphi is one of the most powerful surviving symbols of ancient Greek religion. Its rounded, almost beehive-like form represents the omphalos, or “navel,” the point the ancient Greeks identified as the center of the world.
